Employer-sponsored health insurance coverage in Oregon has dropped significantly since 2000, but not as much as the national average, according to a new study.

The percent of nonelderly people with employer coverage dropped 10.2 percentage points nationally, and 8.7 percent in Oregon, according to the study by the State Health Access Data Assistance Center. Specifically, Oregon's percent of employer-sponsored coverage dropped from 70 percent -- just about the national average -- to 61.3 percent, slightly better than the national average.
